Low-Profile Microwaves

Under-cabinet height is often the most restrictive dimension. If you have less than 14–15 inches from countertop to the cabinet above, a standard microwave simply won't fit. The models below are 12 inches tall or less — making them the best candidates for tight under-cabinet installations.

• ✓ Measure from the countertop to the bottom of the cabinet above — that's your total available height, not just the microwave's height.
• ✓ Add the model's required top clearance (shown on each card) to the unit height to get the minimum opening needed.
• ✓ A lower profile usually means less interior height — check whether your tallest bowl or container will fit inside.
• ✓ OTR (over-the-range) models are inherently low-profile relative to their width — consider them if you're also replacing a range hood.
